Research on Campus
There are plenty of Research Faculty at your fingertips here at NYU, especially as both a CAS and Tandon Student! Check out the different Research Faculty Lists below to learn more about research done in your department, but also feel free to venture into different fields, as well as other research institutions within NYC including NYU Langone, Columbia, Mount Sinai, and any of the CUNY schools, but also out-of-state if you're feeling adventurous!
Computer Science
Engineering (all Tandon Groups)
Unfortunately, Tandon doesn't have a by department organized list of their lab groups. Here, though, is what they do have.

What is an REU? a SURF? |
How Can I Start Doing Research? |
REU stands for Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program. Generally you apply for them in your Junior or Sophomore year, but you can never apply too early. Note that you will probably have to apply to programs outside of NYU
Pro Tips if you want to apply:
|
Reach out to your professors! Ask them what they're doing. It's okay if you feel a little lost. Most research explores areas well above the content covered in class. You can also check out some of these NYU Resources!
Dean's Undergraduate Research Fund (DURF): The DURF funds up to $1000 towards anything related to research done at NYU. This can cover Equipment and licence expenses, conference travel, and even cover financial loss (in the case where you would otherwise be working.) See the link above for more details! Research+ Program: The Research + Program at NYU Supports NYU Undergraduates to do Research at NYU over a summer. It provides housing for the Summer terms as a stipend. There are also other NYU based opportunities like the Diversity Research Incubator, which you can look for! |
